饶雪晶在上海长大，四岁时便开始参加演出，一直希望能出演更多的角色，同时也活跃地投入到许多广告和短片的制作。《花木兰》是她的第一部商业电影，也是她作为职业演员的处女作。这位小女孩不但有秀灵的容貌，也极其富有个人魅力。

       制作方迪斯尼千里挑一，选中了这位才华横溢的小女孩。饶雪晶经过四次试镜，在全球海选中脱颖而出，最终才被选为“小花木兰”。导演妮基·卡罗在精心挑选这一角色时，正是因为导演在雪晶身上看到的那股与众不同的的独有英气，从而让她出演这一角色。 

       当被问及她为什么喜欢表演时，她回答说:“我有想象力丰富，自然而然地与角色融为一体，从而更好的理解了小花木兰这一角色。木兰是我的本色出演。”饶雪晶还说道，这几年扮演了多个不同角色，确实是一种非常有趣且特别的经历，而出演这部迪士尼影片带给她的是一种全新的挑战。 

       在两个月的拍摄中，她适应了高强度的训练和快节奏的拍摄。饶雪晶说道：”印象最深的是拍摄午夜的那场雨，她和资深演员马泰（饰花木兰的父亲）谈论家庭和国家荣誉之间的重要性。她还说道“虽说这场戏很难拍，但令人难忘。我喜欢木兰父亲以这样的谈话方式，启发了木兰勇于接受挑战。我希望所有观看《花木兰》的女孩们都能感受到她的忠、勇、贞，并受到鼓舞。” 她说：”她会不断努力提升自己和提高技能，希望在表演艺术方面取得更大的进步“。 

Crystal Rao is grown up in Shanghai. She started acting at the age of four in a short film. She eagerly pursued more acting roles and was subsequently involved many advertisements and short films. Mulan is her first commercial feature film and marks her debut as a professional actress. Her hard work, energy and charm make this young talent not just another pretty face. 

In seeking a young actress to undertake the demanding role of Young Mulan in Disney's Mulan (2020) they sought an authentic Chinese youth with international experience through a wide talent search. Crystal Rao was one of many aspiring talents that casting agents considered. Director Niki Caro took special care in casting this role and, after four rounds of auditions, finally chose Crystal because she saw in her a special and unique spirit. 

When asking Crystal why she likes acting, she replies, "I have a very wild imagination, so I put myself in the character's shoes and then act it out.”Playing different roles over the years has indeed a very interesting experience, Crystal says, but working on a full-scale Disney production brought new challenges. 

In her two months on-set shooting the film, she endured intensive training sessions and Disney's fast-paced filming environment. Crystal recounts the deepest impression she had of her movie experience was acting in the rain at midnight, in a scene with herself and veteran actor Tzi Ma, playing Mulan's father, talking about the importance of bringing honor to the family and to the country. "It was hard to shoot under those conditions but it was an impressive scene," said Crystal. "I liked that his words inspired a girl to undertake such a big challenge. I hope girls everywhere watching Mulan will feel and be encouraged by her loyal, brave and true spirit."
